Miss Saigon is coming to the Orpheum this month.  Written by the same people who wrote Les Miserables!  I'm definitely gonna try to go.  Anyone seen it?

I spoke with someone today from our parish about a young adults group.  The lady gave me a number to call of someone in the past who tried starting one up a few years ago.  For one reason or another, the group fell through back then.  I am determined to get a group started this year though.  However, I am new to the Memphis area and don't know people...hence why I would love to get a group together.  Hopefully a group of like-minded, Christian (Catholic)adults in their 20's and 30's to have bowling nights, Bible studies, cookouts, etc.

Does anyone have a feasible suggestion as a good first event that, if well-advertised, would attract a nice crowd of young adults at my parish?

Thanks for that last comment Rob!  You really had some great answers...

Christmas was great.  Got a digital camera.  Went sledding with a ski rope pulled by a tractor.   Worked on a painting.  (Although I'm losing the inspiration I had)  Ate lots of junk food.  Safely drove on the ice.  Bought a suit.  Began writing a paper that I plan to post here soon.  Listened to the song "Mary Did You Know" over and over and over again.

Yay!!  An interview request!

I've been doing research on possible interview questions.  Here are some that I find difficult...If you happen to read this, ANY comments/opinions would be very helpful!

1. What would you do if you had to work with colleages that are completely incompetent?

2.  What political issues would you write your congressman about?

3.  In your opinion, what is the kindest thing someone you know has done for another person?

4.  If you had the money to fix the nation's healthcare crisis, what would you do?

5.  Do you think compassion is learned or you are born with it?

6.  Have you ever had to work with a polar opposite?  What did you learn?

The more I think about today, the more I realize just how fantastic it was....

Work was fun.  My boss was out.  Many people stopped by the lab to talk to me while I worked which made the time fly.

Received confirmation that I passed my drug test (and I didn't even study!!) and may now volunteer in the ER.  I'm so excited about that.

A co-worker and I had a great lunch conversation and decided we're organizing a canoe trip in the spring.

My Amazon packages came in the mail today.

Received a very kind letter in the mail today from the pastor of my church back at college.

Made it to the cleaners with 4 minutes to spare to pick up my pants for work tomorrow.

A friend whom I've not talked to in a while called, and I got to complain to him about there being such a lack of outreach to young adults in their 20's at all the Catholic churches in Memphis that I've been to.  He agreed.  And wants to help me get something started.

Decided I'm going to a protestant church with a coworker next weekend, just to explore, and hopefully meet some people.  I want to see how these outreach groups work there.

I got new shoes today to wear to work that will be more comfortable than those heeled boots I've been wearing.

My friend did well on his GRE that he was so worried about!

I decided I AM going to take that painting class I've had my mind on since Saturday.

And I recieved a med school secondary application today from a school, that I just "knew" I was rejected from.

God sure took care of me today!  May he do the same for you.
